Tránsito en masa/Alternativas para el alquiler:

Antes de comprar un auto, especialmente un segundo vehículo, considere si la alternativa de transporte tiene sentido. Particularmente en las ciudades, estas alternativas pudiesen incluir tránsito en masa, taxis, y autos de alquiler, o una combinación de las tres. Lo más importante es que haga un estimado de los costos de un auto y el costo de cualquiera de las alternativas. Entonces, hágase la pregunta, ¿vale el precio la conveniencia de ser propietario de un auto?

Alquiler con opción a compra:

Si usted decide que siempre quiere tener un auto a su disponibilidad, considere alquilar con opción a compra como manera de ser dueño de un auto. Una de las razones por las que tantos autos son alquilados con opción a compra es que frecuentemente los pagos de alquiler con opción a compra son más bajos que los pagos de un préstamo de automóvil. Pero recuerde que, al final del período de alquiler con opción a compra, usted no es propietario del auto. Y comprar el auto al final del período de alquiler con opción a compra le pudiese costar a usted más en total que si lo hubiese comprado al principio.

The Gift of Homeownership
